Welcome to AIS Elementary School!
I am pleased to share our elementary school information and features that have given AIS the reputation for educational excellence in Mandalay. Our campus is a community center where our students and families feel safe and welcome. It is a hub of activity and learning. Our elementary playground shaded by mature trees is a welcoming garden setting which makes nature and the outdoors accessible as an essential element for well-being.
We believe that all students can learn given the right conditions and our student support department includes Exceptional Student Education (ESE) and English Language Learner (ELL) specialist teachers. In fact, every class in the elementary school has a Myanmar assistant teacher to provide all manner of support for learning and teaching. Extra support sessions are also offered to those in need each day after school.
The language of instruction at AIS is English taught by international teachers. The diversity in our multi-lingual teaching staff enriches the learning of our students giving a variety of perspectives to the broad-based curriculum content and standards of a U.S. education. It is a winning combination as our elementary students shine with global citizen attitudes and capabilities.
All our international teachers offer after-school activities, and the variety of clubs is great. Environmental, artistic, musical, linguistic, and mind challenging games introduce and engage our students in pursuits they would not necessarily encounter in Mandalay outside of AIS.
Most important at AIS is the lasting impact of the positive elementary experience on our students’ attitudes towards education and their future. I welcome you to contact us or come to visit so that we can share our wonderful school with you.
